Timelies all! I didn't sleep well last night, I think due to the loan issue. I've decided to quit dealing with the one-stop center and go straight to the director of Financial Aid. They need to know they are having these kinds of problems. I'll probably stop by the one-stop today just so I can say I did. But, straight to the top I go.
Good luck, vw. I think your strategy is wise.
Oh, shit. This morning is not going well. I clearly need more coffee, but maybe what I need more is to just crawl back into bed.
A little backstory...I joined this knitting/crocheting group at church. I suggested a yarn to use on our first project, and the woman who started the group is having trouble with it. I've talked to our very own Anne to get some advice with how to work with her, etc. So, I replied to an e-mail she sent this morning about more trouble. Then, she responded, telling me I was wrong, so I wanted to run that past Anne. So, I thought I forwarded the e-mail to Anne adding, "Is this true? Did I just make myself look like a big, stupid fool?"
Only, I didn't hit the forward button. I hit reply. Fortunately, I realized it and e-mailed the woman right away saying I was trying to get advice from a yarn expert, and I think it will be ok. But, oy.
Edit: Thanks, Cindy! I think it's the best thing to do at this point. Thankfully, I document things pretty well, and they're going to wish they hadn't messed with me :)
Good luck with the job, vw!
We should really be getting around this morning. I signed us up for storytime at the library and it's at 9:30. I hope O enjoys it.
Thanks, Anne! You're the bestest!
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. I have somehow completely screwed my finances this month. A good bit of it was bills, but far from all, and I really didn't realize how close to the wire I was getting. Now I'm going to have to take money out of savings just to keep afloat. It's only six days from my last freaking paycheck. And I still haven't paid my car registration, and I have two weddings coming up in early October that I haven't bought gifts for yet.
Oh, brenda, I hate that realization. I'm sorry. I hope you get it figured out and make it to the next paycheck.
I have two weddings coming up in early October that I haven't bought gifts for yet.
Now, I may be suffering under a delusion of fake etiquette, but the wedding gifts, you are suposed to have a year to give... so you may be able to stretch that out a little bit, over then enxt few months... right?
I received many after the wedding gifts and didn't find it unusual. Actually rather fun.
Hi all! I'm going to have to master the art of the meara. It seems I have to catch up on hundreds of posts every time I get here.
Sigh
Stupid having to work for a living.
We received gifts before, after, and during the wedding. Brenda, put me in the pile that says you have a month or two (I think etiquette-wise, you probably do have a year, but I know it would weigh on my mind until I was finally able to give the gift).
