Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Mom just called about an email my brother sent. It's good and bad news, nothing life threatening.
Bad News -- he and his fiance have broken up for good. It sounds like over her trip there they realized it wasn't meant to be.
Good News -- He's moving back to the States. Not just moving back but the University he attends has a sister program with a college in North Carolina, maybe it's just starting. I'm not sure. But the University asked my brother if he would go there to be an instructor/assist with the program. He'd still have to pay international tution, but he'll be working full time and only have 3 more classes to finish. The other downside for him is he'll be 6 hrs away from the beach and he's never lived that far from the beach in his life. Also, he can't focus on sea kayaking.
Quick! Send in those recipes before I notice :)
I have to go to work soon! I'll try to get it in tonight. I had all these fun ideas for it.
cookbook team, i sent in a recipe several days ago, but I never got a confirmation e-mail or anything like that. Did you get my recipe?
Timelies. With a big side of gronk.
I think I kicked the universe too hard last night. My mom called last night to tell me my dad had an attack of angina, while he was on the highway. He drove himself to the nearest hospital (?!), which was only about an hour away from my parents, and friends of their drove my mom down there. They're doing a nuclear stress test this morning (and doesn't that sound grim?) and hopefully he'll be home later on.
Scary. It wasn't a heart attack, which is good, but he's only 63. And he's my dad! Not. Supposed. To. Happen.

Well, at least he'll be stateside again! That's a shame about his fiancee, although it's better to realize they're not going to work out now, rather than after the wedding.
Amy, my Dad is 63 and his heart attack freaked me out for the same reason -- he's my Dad! he's not supposed to be sick!
AmyLiz! I'm so sorry. I hope everything works out extra-healthy-well with your dad.
askye, I'm glad your brother is coming home. I hope it works out well for him, too.
Teppy, are you around? What time is your dad's procedure?
Stephanie, thanks! We got the recipe, and it looks delish!

I just posted a "Been There; Done That; Ate the T-Shirt" comment in your LJ. My Dad is notorious for driving himself to the hospital while his heart is doing the hokey-pokey.

I am around -- his procedure is at 11:30, and I'll probably go over to the hospital around 12:30 or so. I'm edgy and have a sense of doom hanging over me. Probably just the weather, which is grey and rainy.
I got your e-mail, Cindy -- thanks! I may call you if I get there and can't see him right away.

My f-i-l is EXACTLY the same way. He's not just a heart attack patient, he's a carrier.

I should be around for a good long chunk of time. If you're good, I'll let Christopher tell you knock-knock jokes (or, maybe if you're bad, I haven't quite decided that part, yet).

Exactly.

"Ate the T-Shirt." Heh. I know -- it was very strange, because I had seen your post yesterday and offered vibes, and when my mom called, I was thinking, Wait a minute. This sounds familiar... And I'll be sending many vibes during the procedure for your dad, Tep.
Dads of the world! Behave!
I hope everything works out extra-healthy-well with your dad.
Thanks. I'm thinking, naturally, that today calls for cake.
