We have to see the chimp playing hockey! That's hilarious! The ice is so slippery, and, and monkeys are all irrational. We have to see this!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

Mom just called about an email my brother sent. It's good and bad news, nothing life threatening.

Bad News -- he and his fiance have broken up for good. It sounds like over her trip there they realized it wasn't meant to be.

Good News -- He's moving back to the States. Not just moving back but the University he attends has a sister program with a college in North Carolina, maybe it's just starting. I'm not sure. But the University asked my brother if he would go there to be an instructor/assist with the program. He'd still have to pay international tution, but he'll be working full time and only have 3 more classes to finish. The other downside for him is he'll be 6 hrs away from the beach and he's never lived that far from the beach in his life. Also, he can't focus on sea kayaking.

I have to go to work soon! I'll try to get it in tonight. I had all these fun ideas for it.

Trust my rage

cookbook team, i sent in a recipe several days ago, but I never got a confirmation e-mail or anything like that. Did you get my recipe?

Because books.

Timelies. With a big side of gronk.

I think I kicked the universe too hard last night. My mom called last night to tell me my dad had an attack of angina, while he was on the highway. He drove himself to the nearest hospital (?!), which was only about an hour away from my parents, and friends of their drove my mom down there. They're doing a nuclear stress test this morning (and doesn't that sound grim?) and hopefully he'll be home later on.

Scary. It wasn't a heart attack, which is good, but he's only 63. And he's my dad! Not. Supposed. To. Happen.

It's good and bad news, nothing life threatening.

Well, at least he'll be stateside again! That's a shame about his fiancee, although it's better to realize they're not going to work out now, rather than after the wedding.

Amy, my Dad is 63 and his heart attack freaked me out for the same reason -- he's my Dad! he's not supposed to be sick!

What is even happening?

AmyLiz! I'm so sorry. I hope everything works out extra-healthy-well with your dad.

askye, I'm glad your brother is coming home. I hope it works out well for him, too.

Teppy, are you around? What time is your dad's procedure?
