Willow: Were there dolphins? Tara: Yes. Many dolphins at the pound. Willow: Was there a camel? Tara: There was the front of a camel. A half-camel.

'Selfless'

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Ah. That's my problem; I've been wearing my pre-potbelly blouses. Got any good sources to recommend?

Sadly, not really. I just scour eBay for anything labled 'princess seam' or 'fit & flare'. I *have* been looking at this jacket at Coldwater Creek: [link]

What looks good when you have a lump in the middle but are NOT pregnant?

Low waisted skirts and jeans; no zips or buttons at the front, always at the side. No clingy materials. Soft wool, like ballet cardigans that wrap around at the hips, rather than the waist.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Betsy, something like this. [link]

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

So, fitted tops/jackets for those of us who have tummies? I've been doing that completely wrong. I've shied away from fitted things because they end up too tight at the waist or too big at the bust/shoulders.

Seriously, I'm built like a wide, short column with no waist to speak of.

Ooh, I like that jacket Jilli. The whole military Victorian thing is in this season, apparently. They're stealing your style! Or more likely, borrowing it until next year.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Heee. I just got that Newport News catalogue and was staring at that very coat, thinking, "My God, Jilli needs that SO BAD."

Of course, I need it too, but right now the rest of my wardrobe hasn't got nearly enough panache to properly accompany it, whereas it seems like Jilli's Closet O' Doom is always good to go.

Yes, because otherwise you look like a big box. But the fitted tops/jackets must be paired with full-ish or flowing skirts.

(I have no advice to give about trousers or jeans, as I haven't worn any in about 16 years.)

Re: Trousers and Jeans:

Straight legs are your friends. Boxy from the hips down is good. But wear it with fitted tops. Tapered or flare are bad bad bad things for people who have tummies and/or wideish hips. I speak of what I know. And have.
