vw, my two cents oppose sending that letter. If you send a note that says "Did you get my res? Can we talk?" that would be fine, but if I received a letter like yours from an applicant it would prejudice me against that applicant.
It's nicely written, but there are two things against it: 1) it sounds like what it is: pressure. There's no way to disguise that. 2) There is an element of largesse in offering someone a job, and most employers having two equal candidates would give the job to the candidate who didn't have another option.
Happy birthday to P-Cow!
Happy belated birthday to Trudy and Kara!
I don't want to go to work.
Also the ankle I twisted last week is really throbbing this morning.

Nodding with Raq and adding my two cents. Too bad four cents won't buy anything cool.
So far today kinda sucks in the world of me. It must be Monday.

I have to agree with Raq here. I would make contact, but not with the specifics.

I hope your Monday improves, Nicole.
The last interview scheduled for the job Teacup Guy applied for was Friday. I am hoping he hears back about a second interview or that he got the job soon.
I don't want to go to work.
Here on the East Coast, the workday is a personal affront to my need to sleep and stay under the covers until Spring.

Ibuprofen is your friend. You can take 3 or 4, but then don't take any more for at least 6 hours, 8 if you can handle it.
I woke up with a horrible sinus headache, which I know is the direct result of my marathon crying jag. Drugs seem to have beaten the sinus pain down, though, which is good.
Still feel like crap. Somehow the co-workers seem to have picked up on it and are being both quiet and also nice to me.
But I would really really just like to crawl in a cave for about 6 months.
