I'm giving up and putting in a DVD for Mal. I want him rested for our store trip this afternoon; last time he got really fussy in the store it wasn't pleasant.
There was some humor, though - the cashier was helping me bag my groceries to expedite the process, and said "Tora! Tora! Tora!" That translates literally as "Now! Now! Now!" and in context was something like "Yessir! Right away sir!" to the fussy baby. But of course an American hearing "Tora Tora Tora" thinks something else entirely.
Raq, BWAH! I hope he gets some rest for you.
Question for the hivemind. When New Not!Emily interviewed and moved in, I told him he would never have to care for the pets, except for maybe checking to make sure Bastet had water if we were gone for a couple of days. But, my Wednesday schedule has turned out to be nuts. I'll be gone for over 12 hours, and that's just too long for Toto to go. Unfortunately, Emily won't be getting home till after me, so having her walk him is not an option.
Do you think he would be upset if I asked him to walk Toto on Wednesday afternoons? I'd offer to pay him $10, so it's not like I'd be totally taking advantage of him. My other option is to have someone come in and walk Toto, but I think I would prefer this. What do you think?

Man, oh, man, I have been there. Not a place I like to visit. There was a time when I couldn't go in anywhere if I couldn't get in and our in 15 minutes or less. He's a little more susceptable to bribes reason now. I save a small container of goldfish crackers for the check out line. When the time comes to unload the cart, I give that to him and he sits there happily eating them until I can get out of the store.
Today is my level 2 ultrasound. I'll know whether the next buffista baby is a boy or a girl by this afternoon.
Oooooo....yay, Cashmere! How exciting!
Hee. Triple-exciting.
re: Toto, vw, I'd ask Not!Emily first (with the offer to pay) but make sure he knows you're willing to hire someone else. That way there's no pressure.
Hee. Triple-exciting.
Yup. Apparently my computer wanted you to know of its and Toto's excitement as well.
meara, I love the lengthy mearas. Don't ever hold back. Actually, I really miss posting that way. It is (for me) a kind of cool combination of how Bronzers posted (although we didn't do the quote-back thing much), and how Buffistas post. I do it less now, because it's so seldom used, but I heart it.
Cashmere! Baby Spoilers!!!!!!!!! Are you hoping one way or another?
I have trouble reconciling the last two Sisters of Mercy albums with the worst rock song ever written, "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)."
I don't know from Sisters of Mercy, but as overwrought as "I'd Do Anything for Love" is, and although it's likely in my top 10 or top 25 worst rock songs ever (would that be bottom?--whatever, you know what I mean), I think you're overlooking
We Built this City on Rock and Roll,
and
Eye of the Tiger.
Perhaps you've just been successful in blocking them from your memory.

Are you hoping one way or another?
I'd like a girl but I'm trying not to be too picky.
