meara, I love the lengthy mearas. Don't ever hold back. Actually, I really miss posting that way. It is (for me) a kind of cool combination of how Bronzers posted (although we didn't do the quote-back thing much), and how Buffistas post. I do it less now, because it's so seldom used, but I heart it.

I have trouble reconciling the last two Sisters of Mercy albums with the worst rock song ever written, "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)."
I don't know from Sisters of Mercy, but as overwrought as "I'd Do Anything for Love" is, and although it's likely in my top 10 or top 25 worst rock songs ever (would that be bottom?--whatever, you know what I mean), I think you're overlooking
We Built this City on Rock and Roll,
and
Eye of the Tiger.
Perhaps you've just been successful in blocking them from your memory.

I'd like a girl but I'm trying not to be too picky.
t stuffs cotton in her ears to avoid the earworms
Okay, I have to get everyone off to school. Meep. Chris doesn't go in until 10 today, and then over for an hour.

Wheee!
All kinds of first-day-of-school ~ma to sj and vw.
Not-fussy ~ma to Mal, who should be good for his mommy, because that bacon fat and dingo scenario doesn't sound pleasant.
I like Paradise by the Dashboard Light, too.
I didn't think Emmett could change so much from a year ago. Wow. The shaggy looks good on him.
This. I see my own grow so quickly, but somehow it is always a shock to see how other kids change.
eta: Whee! for baby spoilage. I didn't find out in advance myself because I wanted to be surprised. It annoyed some of the relatives.

I care not, I love the overblown melodrama of this song that overpowers any notions of taste like a steamroller over a possum. It's so much fun to sing, especially if you include the hand gestures. "I would do anything for love, but I won't do... [performs complicated and vaguely obscene gestures] that."
I start classes tonight too... I'm nervous. I just hope the transportation issue works out OK, that I find my classes, and can buy my books, get back to North Station in time to catch the 8pm train, and... ugh.
stuffs cotton in her ears to avoid the earworms
We've been having an earworm war around my house. The standard battle tactic has been to approach the other person and sing the viral phrase, but I've moved to a more clandestine and subversive approach. Last night I was tweaking photos, and said, "Huh. If I adjust the levels, I can change this sunset into sunrise. Sunrise, sunrise."
Robert seemed to be ignoring me, but not 5 minutes later he started humming "Sunrise, Sunrise" by Norah Jones. I yipped in victory.
Mal and I played outside some, and he fell asleep finally, so looks like the dingoes go hungry for another day.
Good luck, Nora! Good luck, sj!
See you all when I figure out the wireless at school!
