Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Is that like how sometimes I kinda miss The Gypsy Kings since I haven't worked in a Spanish restaurant for eight years?

I... maybe?

I miss it cause our theater has TV ads now, rather than in-house music.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

This month's disc includes Alvin and the Chipmunks covering Don't Stop Believin'.

Heaven's just a funky chipmunk?

Ahh yeah, the theatre where I used to work has the giant lobby screen playing trailers all the time. It's fun once a month when there's new trailers but even good trailers get old pretty quick. All I have to do is think of that screen and I hear Donkey from Shrek say, "...and in the mornin'... I'm making waffles!" as he so many times before the first Shrek movie came out.

t x-posted from the Heroes thread

Hunh. I've just been offered a live interview with Jason Kyson Lee (Ando) for my Friday morning radio show. Should I do it? Unless he's into the indie-rock, it's way outside the usual format. If I did it, what should I ask? Bonus points if it's punkity rockity.

The initial shock of Chipmunks has worn off and now Hilary Duff's Reach Out is by far the more irritating. At least The Chipmunks get the lyrics right. And somewhere in the mix is a song that's rippin' off guitar licks from Jimmy Page. I may come to hate that one the most. I look forward to a couple weeks from now when my brain adjusts and it all fades into background noise.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Laga, I'm torn between telling you to step away from the evil covers to wanting you keep reporting.

We're almost closed. I have turned off the movie tunes for the night. Here's the playlist if you'd like to re-create it and share my pain.

Queen + Paul Rodgers "C-lebrity"

Enya "White is the Winter Night"

James Taylor "It's Growing" {this song has been on the playlist for a couple months already and I'm not tired of it yet.)

Hilary Duff "Reach Out"

George Strait "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"

Wicked "Popular"

Seal "Soul Music Medley"

Marie Digby "Bring Me Love"

Jersey Boys "Oh What a Night"

Faith Hill "A Baby Changes Everything" {I haven't paid attention to this one yet. I'm wondering if it's about Jesus}

Billy Currington "Don't"

Christina Millian "Us Against the World"

Josh Groban "Christmas Melody"

Wicked "Defying Gravity" {I still like this one, too- though I am very tired of "Popular"}

Alvin and the Chipmunks "Don't Stop Believin'"

Julianna Hough "My Hallelujah Song"

A coworker theorized that the Chipmunks and Ms. Duff were inserted into the mix to distract us so we wouldn't be as annoyed by the early arrival of Christmas music.
