Spike: I'm not a monster. Xander: Yes! You are a monster. Vampires are monsters! They make monster movies about them! Spike: Well, yeah. Got me there.

Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

The initial shock of Chipmunks has worn off and now Hilary Duff's Reach Out is by far the more irritating. At least The Chipmunks get the lyrics right. And somewhere in the mix is a song that's rippin' off guitar licks from Jimmy Page. I may come to hate that one the most. I look forward to a couple weeks from now when my brain adjusts and it all fades into background noise.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Laga, I'm torn between telling you to step away from the evil covers to wanting you keep reporting.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

We're almost closed. I have turned off the movie tunes for the night. Here's the playlist if you'd like to re-create it and share my pain.

Queen + Paul Rodgers "C-lebrity"

Enya "White is the Winter Night"

James Taylor "It's Growing" {this song has been on the playlist for a couple months already and I'm not tired of it yet.)

Hilary Duff "Reach Out"

George Strait "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"

Wicked "Popular"

Seal "Soul Music Medley"

Marie Digby "Bring Me Love"

Jersey Boys "Oh What a Night"

Faith Hill "A Baby Changes Everything" {I haven't paid attention to this one yet. I'm wondering if it's about Jesus}

Billy Currington "Don't"

Christina Millian "Us Against the World"

Josh Groban "Christmas Melody"

Wicked "Defying Gravity" {I still like this one, too- though I am very tired of "Popular"}

Alvin and the Chipmunks "Don't Stop Believin'"

Julianna Hough "My Hallelujah Song"

A coworker theorized that the Chipmunks and Ms. Duff were inserted into the mix to distract us so we wouldn't be as annoyed by the early arrival of Christmas music.

Okay, I may be sick in the head, but I kind of want a copy of the Chipmunks' version of Don't Stop Believin'

“Not dead yet!”

Well, Sue, you're the lucky one-- it's on iTunes.

Yes, I checked because I was just that sick and curious.

I sort of want to stab a spork into my ears now, but my curiosity has been satisfied.

OMG, on their new album, Alvin and the Chipmunks also cover, The Time Warp, Livin' on a Prayer, and Three Little Birds. My head is about to explode.

ETA: Led Zepplin's Rock'n' Roll is on the album too!

“Not dead yet!”

Oh Jesus. I had only searched under "Don't Stop Believin'" so I totally missed "Livin' on a Prayer."

WHY did I feel compelled to listen?

::searches frantically for spork::

Art Crawl!!!

Apparently, he did some musical training. He has a MySpace and a Facebook page - perhaps those go more into what music he likes.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm with Sumi. Go for it. Maybe find out a few of his favorite songs and have them ready.

(Personally, I would be tempted to ask him earnest questions about time travel. "What does it FEEL like traveling through time and/or space?")
