Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

::totally crushing on Corwood for calling me pretty. ::

“Not dead yet!”

Any classical music buffs, new recording of The Four Seasons by Joshua Bell with the Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields. I've only heard a small amount and it's tremendous so far.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Speaking of classical music, this cracked me up: [link]

Funny, especially since I systematically say my interest in concert music doesn't go beyond WWI, with the exception of Prokofiev. And I love Dvorak.

In non-classical news, I've put aside Chopin to listen to the latest episode of All Songs Considered (The 1980s: Were They Really That Bad?). They are having so much fun with this topic.

For the record, I don't think the 80s were that bad.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

80s music was awesome!

Now, if we're talking about fashion, it's another matter.

Word!

Double word! (legwarmers anyone? *shudder*)

Agreed.

Although, for full disclosure, I did go to a prep school and actually wore things like grosgrain whale belts, loafers (without socks, natch), kelly green widewale cords, and kilts.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I still wear loafers without socks.

I think I still have couple of pairs of legwarmers from back then moldering in my closet somewhere. Then there were the Joan-Collins shoulder pads and the garantuan hair. Seriously, WHAT were we thinking?

The preppy looks at least haven't aged quite as badly.
