Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I didn't see Billie Holliday's "Gloomy Sunday" on there, either!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Funny - I just got invited to a book signing for a friend's husband who just had a book released in the 33 1/3 series. (His is on the Afghan Whigs' "Gentlemen".) I halfway feel like these books are a Buffista project so it took me aback a little.

(Tuesday the 16th at the Hideout if any Chicagoistas are interested. Free food and not-free beer.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I think that 33 book will sell well, brenda. That is such a touchstone album for so many people.

I'm dying to read it. I'm about to see two Gutter Twins shows, on Wednesday and Thursday. And I almost, almost got to interview them as well.

And yeah, every time I read about it in their musical forum I thought "Buffistas!".

Are you all familiar with Darondo?

Actual pimp from Oakland with a great singing voice. He also had an actual cable access show in the mid eighties. Suave!

Hey, may I ask for your help, you kind musically educated Musicastas?

Apparently that interview might still happen. Might. Any tips, ideas for questions for the band and Valium will be welcomed by me. Profile addy is good.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I like the pretty redhead in the next picture, myself.

This guy is the worst mime in a box ever.
