You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The Tom Waits Tour Bus gets a mention on Defamer:

Woo hoo! Maybe we'll get some last minute tickets and sell out.

This is how slow my memory churns. A day of the week song just popped into my brain: Wednesday Week by the Undertones. I only have it on cassette, so I can't send it to you.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Wednesday Week by the Undertones. I only have it on cassette, so I can't send it to you.

Hec already suggested it, but it's not on iTunes.

I generally shoot for 50-60 songs, and I now have 70, so I'm actually working on weeding out a few.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I went on the fabulicious Smay-led Waits tour of LA! It was fantastic, fun and really interesting AND it had added bonus Corwood! It was a truly wonderful way to spend the day and it was so nice to be around an entire crowd of folks all digging Hec's spicy brains.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Monday Mornin Blues by Mississipi John Hurt is another one if you're still looking.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I didn't see Billie Holliday's "Gloomy Sunday" on there, either!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Funny - I just got invited to a book signing for a friend's husband who just had a book released in the 33 1/3 series. (His is on the Afghan Whigs' "Gentlemen".) I halfway feel like these books are a Buffista project so it took me aback a little.

(Tuesday the 16th at the Hideout if any Chicagoistas are interested. Free food and not-free beer.)

I think that 33 book will sell well, brenda. That is such a touchstone album for so many people.
