This is an awesome video: Wire’s “Outdoor Miner” on Ukulele
It's performed by Gus & Finn. I don't know anything about them - I'd love to get an audio recording of this....
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Pretty awesome mixtapes. Posts in Hebrew, music and playlists in English. Mostly 70's Funk, Groove and Jazz.
Megan, I have the Bangles, Asobi Seksu, and the Bloc Party. I'll send these to Buffistarawk.
Some other weekday songs I have:
Friday Night at the Drive-In Bingo, Jens Lekman (I loooove this one)
Friday's Dust, Doves
St. Monday, Billy Bragg
Saturday Morning, Eels
A Sunday Smile, Beirut
Sunday Morning, Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs (a gorgeous VU cover)
Sunday Sun, Beck
Saturday Night, Suede
Sunday Best, Augustana
Sunday, Nick Drake
Never on Sunday, Pink Martini
Um. Rather a disproportionate number of Sunday songs there. Let me know if you want any of these uploaded.
ETA: Corwood, could I ask you to send Sparklehorse' "Saturday" to BR if you have it? I love them and I don't have that one.
I'm having a seriously WTF moment this morning watching this: [link]
That's Rob Tyner, lead singer for the MC5, in an 1980s TV appearance, playing the auto-harp.
Vonnie: sure! All of Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot is overwhelmingly great.

Wow. And the song is a folk song about his days with the MC5.
This is how I prefer to think of the MC5. When Wayne Kramer was the coolest, sexiest, goofiest motherfucker in the world.

Yeah, there's a lot of Saturday and Sunday out there. I actually had more Monday songs than Friday though. Tuesday through Thursday get no love.
Friday Night at the Drive-In Bingo, Jens Lekman (I loooove this one)
I think I need this for the title alone. Were you the one that posted his version of "You Can Call Me Al"? Because I used that on my Groundhog Day cover playlist.
Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs (a gorgeous VU cover)
How is this album? I saw it at the library but I thought it might be too treacly. I like both their voices though.
Otherwise, let's see. I already have the Eels, and Perkins sent me the Pink Martini. You can never have too much Billy Bragg I guess. And the Doves would be good too.
Thanks Vonnie!
That Jens Lekman tracks is indeed a killer. I would have suggested it myself, except that I thought someone already had done so.
If anyone is a God Bless the Child fan, I highly recommend Gladys Knight's recent remake.
Actually, I love that whole CD. Woman's a born torch singer.
What about the Specials "Friday Night and Saturday Morning"?
