Thanks for reminding me Aretha this morning. It was good for the soul.
Now, since I was listening to The Apples last night and remembered the covers talk, Here's their version to Killing (RATM cover). So much better when they're doing it live.
'Safe'
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

I was at a Gavin Rossdale show tonight at House of Blues because Empires was opening for him, and, uh. You know. Bob Bryar was there. With his lovely lady locks.
I am shamefully pleased that Bob has not chopped his hair.
And sort of squealing a bit.
You know, Shrift, right after I lost my job I met Mikeyway... its some sort of Buffista mojo.
If Bob Bryar wants to brighten my day by randomly appearing at music venues in Chicago, who am I to complain?
Sighhhh...
So very very bright.
I guess Mike Pedicone of The Bled is drumming for Gavin Rossdale, and that's who Bob was there to see.
BOB! And his lovely lady locks!
So, remember Feist's song "1234"? I wasn't the biggest fan of it, nor of the video, but she apparently reworked it for Sesame Street, and it is the most adorable thing. Penguins at the door! Chickens back from the shore! Monsters walking on the floor!
Why does "lovely lady locks" earworm me with My Humps?
Because you're human, and that song is evil?
Hee. For some reason, my 65 year old mother LOVES that song. Loved it so much she went out and bought all of Fergie and Black Eyed Peas.
