Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
That's incredibly kind of you to offer!! But I don't think that the ditching would go over too well.
We could probably leave her in Strand for a few hours, and she won't even notice we're gone.
Tom, I see a future career for you as an event planner for people who are forced to invite people they really don't want to be at the event. Like inviting one's co-workers to a wedding, inviting in-laws to, well, anything, etc.
We could probably leave her in Strand for a few hours, and she won't even notice we're gone.
It's funny 'cause it's true! t /homer
Color me intensely green with jealousy.
GOD! Me too!!! seriously.
I saw The Roots and Erykah Badu last night. Badu is so awesome! Love her!
We tried to go to that show when it was here at the Oakland Paramount Theatre, Glamcookie, and couldn't get tickets. The Roots are amazing live. Their show last year at the Fillmore KICKED ASS.
Yeah, I love The Roots a lot, but we were a little underwhelmed by them. They did this medley of hip hop songs, which was cool but cut way down on the number of Roots songs we got to hear. Also they did major solos for the guitarist, bassist, and keyboard players, which again cut way down on the songs. We only got to hear like 5 Roots songs! Then to add insult to injury, the venue played a Roots song when they finished playing. Still love them but wish they'd played more of their own stuff.
Was totally blown away by Erykah. Only Badu can rock a giant fro wig, big nerd glasses, and a nerd suit and still look hott. I'm loving her new record.
Any 10cc fans about?
I share this tidbit stolen from the ILX threads.
basically they did "I'm Not In Love" this way:
They recorded 13 tracks of them singing every note of the octave (plus one) for the duration of the song, and "played" them by moving the faders on the mixer. Pretty great stuff, and it only left 3 tracks for the Rhodes, the bass drum sound (a synth, if memory serves) and the sumptuous Eric Stewart vocal...
