Going back a ways - Juliebird, I think that version of Glory Box you're looking for is the "Glory Box (Mudflap Mix)" that is on the two-disc Glory Times (guess it was definitely a better title choice than Sour Box) CD-EP. I'd forgotten that was a two-disc set.
Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
You know, this is silly. If someone could hook me up with buffistarawk, and, dear lord please, some instructions on what to do (I'm a mac user if that makes a difference), I think Juliebird might get the version she is looking for. Profile addy is good.
Insent, Frank.
I educated my cast on the existence of the Scarlett-sings-Tom record. They were... boggled.
Also, this weekend, I got to see Mindless Self Indulgence, and they were made of awesome. Insane awesome.
Thanks to everyone who sent me the b-rawk info!
Scarlett-sings-Tom record
I actually like this - I feel dirty.

I thought it was an interesting experiment musically. It really focused on Tom's melodies and built a layered pop album around them. A couple songs worked, but not because of her vocals which were supremely characterless and did not really dig into the lyrics.
Holly Cole did an album of Tom Waits songs a few years back and though it was with a fairly standard jazz lineup, she really got the lyrics and did a great job with them.
I guess I should remind people that I put up a ton of Tom Waits covers at Buffistarawk in a variety of styles. So if you're curious about his music but can't get past his voice...check it out.

Oh! Good reminder! I'd forgotten about those being there.
Question! There's an oscillator/generator pop song...does anyone know who the band is? Googling not helping. Need song!
Hec? Help?
