Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I don't really know how to get things from one of my CDs to someone else. I'd need somebody to walk me through the process. Not terribly tech saavy

It's really, really simple! Do you have iTunes? Windows Media Player? MusicMatch Jukebox? RealPlayer? Any number of programs will rip a CD for you. Hell, if you insert the CD into your computer, Windows will likely suggest how to rip it.

No, that part I can handle; it's getting it from there to somewhere else. I can burn a disk easy enough, but I've never done any file-sharing type activities.

Hee. Since I have a Mac, that's unlikely.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Sue, I am so green right now, you could call me Kermit.

Me too.

Your iTunes will rip a CD into the destination you tell it in Preferences. I don't think much of the default AAC settings, so I recommend that you set it to rip as MP3s at at least 192 kbps. You can use StuffIt to compress the folder into a zip or rar file. You can then use rapidshare or a similar upload/storage website to upload the compressed file and share that link with friends.

See, I understood about a quarter of that. Maybe. I know it's probably not difficult once you know how, but me=lazy. Plus, apart from the board, and random info as I need it, I'm pretty computer avoidy at home.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Seriously? If our house financing had fallen apart? I was TOTALLY going to console myself by running away and spending a few thousand dollars for the chance to see Cohen live.

and I was kinda bummed when we closed on time

Punishingly Intricate

I think I've linked some of this woman's work here, she's doing a series of portraits based on puns off of famous people's names. she's done a bunch of musicians. today's killed me:

Well I don't think he's announced US dates, so your chance might be coming.

This is why I never bothered to get an iPod. The thought of having to sit there and rip my collection was too tedious to contemplate. This is the big downside to being on a computer all day - I'm burnt out on it by the time I get home.

ETA, the fact that my computer is in one room, all my music and stereo is in a second room, and my TV and videos/dvds are in a third also doesn't help. Much as I love, Love, LOVE having space, there were some benefits to being in a convenience apartment.
