Willow: Were there dolphins? Tara: Yes. Many dolphins at the pound. Willow: Was there a camel? Tara: There was the front of a camel. A half-camel.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Which is to say, if you like Bauhaus, you'll like this one.
Very good to hear.

Good to hear, indeed!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I put the new Bauhaus on when I went to bed and I really like what I heard of it. I did fall asleep, but with headphones and in bed I can fall asleep to hardcore.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Can anyone rec a good country complation album or albums? I was watching clips from Johnny Cash's tv show last night and suddenly find myself lacking lots of of older country - Merle, Hank, Loretta, Carter Family, Carl Perkins, etc.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Email me your address, Aimee. I have a copy of a classic country comp I made years ago for a friend just lying around. I'm going to mail out a bunch of DVDs on Monday, and I'd be happy to send you a disc, too.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey Jon! (and other cool indie rock fans)

I accidentally tivoed a music show off the Mexican channel and saw the band Austin TV. Check our their album Fontana Bell. I think you'll like it.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Can't say it's doing much for curmudgeonly ol' me, but funnily enough I know the mixing engineer, Tim O'Heir. He used to work at Fort Apache studios.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You kind of have to watch their video to get them, I think.

Or better yet an interview with them while they're wearing their leafy masks.

I "get" them. The video is lovely and fits well with their cinematic sound. I'm just not a big fan of the oeuvre in which they are working. They seems like a poor man's Explosions in the Sky.

In other news, FAQWife informs me that the Harvard music library acquired the Swordfishtrombones book yesterday!

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

In anticipation of replacing my March Madness work playlist (which includes "Windmills of Your Mind", "Destroyer", "Psycho Killer" and 4 different songs simply entitled "Crazy") with April Showers, can people suggest songs about rain? I have about 20 with rain actually in the title, I'm interested more in songs with rain in the lyrics (such as "Sweetest Drop" or "I Can See Clearly Now").
