There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

In anticipation of replacing my March Madness work playlist (which includes "Windmills of Your Mind", "Destroyer", "Psycho Killer" and 4 different songs simply entitled "Crazy") with April Showers, can people suggest songs about rain? I have about 20 with rain actually in the title, I'm interested more in songs with rain in the lyrics (such as "Sweetest Drop" or "I Can See Clearly Now").
X-posted in Natter
"Only Happy When it Rains"
"Pennies From Heaven"
"I Can't Stand the Rain"
"Strange Weather" - Marianne Faithful
"Red Rain", Peter Gabriel
"Stormy Weather"
"Kathy's Song", Simon and Garfunkel
"Caught in the Rain", Martin Sexton
"Pennies From Heaven"
Also good for my "No Lawyers or Guns" mix.
"Kathy's Song"
Oooh I know I have multiple versions of that at home.
"Storms in Africa II," which starts out with that wonderful thunderclap
"Me and Bobby McGee"
"I Love a Rainy Night"
Here's a few rain songs. I didn't know how raincentric you wanted them Megan.
Happy When it Rains - Jesus and Mary Chain
Here Comes the Rain Again - Eurythmics
Red Rain - Peter Gabriel
It's Raining Men - The Weather Girls
Bus Stop - The Hollies
The Hideout - Sarah Harmer
Rainy Day Feeling - The Fortunes (somewhere in my brain, a 1970's AM radio station is playing)
The Painter's Link - Kate Bush
Cloudbusting - Kate Bush
MLK- U2
"Like the Weather," Natalie Merchant
"Storms in Africa II," which starts out with that wonderful thunderclap
As does the Patricia Kass song "fatiguée d'attendre" (although for no real reason, since there is no mention of rain in the song).
