Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

This could just as well go in the Office thread, but Office fans read here too: Jimmy Durante presents the Grass Roots (with Creed Bratton). I have to say, I'm diggin' the song. I wonder if it's been sampled. [link]

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I would totally buy music in this format: [link]

Ann, that's a ferret.

RIP, Teresa Brewer. Of course, this will not stop me from trying to name a Music thread with a lyric from "Music! Music! Music"

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I've listened to the album by Drug Rug a few times, and it's really grown on me. (It's available on eMusic.) My fave songs so far: "Lie Lie Lie" and "Alright."

The new Fiery Furnaces has also grown on me (so I really regret not getting familiar with it before the show).

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey! How come nobody told me that Gavin Friday (Virgin Prunes) did an album in 1989 on Island with Hal Wilner in a Weil style cabaret mode using mostly Tom Waits sidemen? Huh?!

::shakes fist at slacking music board::

Because I figured you would have already known about it. Pretty damn good album, too.

Remember, back in April, when I posted about how the Clash cover by the Lothars was mastered at the wrong speed?

I am somewhat relieved and greatly amused to see that the same mistake has been made in a far more public arena: [link] (via BoingBoing)
