I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Not only did they divorce, but Siouxsie came out as a lesbian! My GF was all over that news.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Oh my.

So was she 'bi' before, or is this totally new?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I haven't been able to find confirmation of that part, just a lot of second-hand blog postings.

When I told Pete about this, the first words out of his mouth were "No, you cannot have Budgie".

GF had an interview with her where she acted all "what's the big?" about it. I'll get the link.

Siouxsie interview [link]

"I think men and women are very different and maybe we're not totally suited as partners. We are so different emotionally. Women are allowed and encouraged to have all these emotions, whereas I still find men repressed. Isn't it weird the way, politically, women are oppressed but emotionally men are? I just do think females are superior. I, erm, I think they have the whole package." Is Sioux telling me she's a lesbian? "I've never particularly said I'm hetero or I'm a lesbian. I know there are people who are definitely one way, but not really me. I suppose if I am attracted to men then they usually have more feminine qualities."

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Am I the only one who can't read the word "package" without singing it "pa-aa-ckage"?

OK, just me then.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Woot! Just got my new issue of the Oxford American in the mail, and I need to recommend it to my musicistas. (It comes with CD, natch.)

For Joe Boucher we've got both Theo.Sphere Monk and Iris Dement.

For msbelle we've got Dwight Yoakum and the International Submarine Band (Gram).

For David Smay fans we've got my piece on Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks.

Lots of cool stuff. Also, Karen Dalton, Van Dyke Parks, Percy Mayfield, The Roches, Daniel Johnston, Fred Neil, the Sparkletones and Karen Dalton.

Johnson got the idea to turn metal crutches into theremins after a friend had recovered enough from a skiing accident to stop using them. "It was a bit of serendipity," Johnson says, laughing. "And it's my way to do some recycling."

Psst! I'm a guest blogger at Powell Books website this montyh (along with a slew of other 33 1/3rd writers) and I'll probably pimp some stuff.

Most of your websites I can find or have bookmarked, however...

Liese! Does your project take direct donations? Can I steer people towards you online?

Lisah! What's your band's website?
