Buffy? I like that. That girl's so hot, she's buffy.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I was talking to the bartender tonight, and it turns out that she was at this video shoot in Brooklyn with Joan Jett and Carmen Electra. She said that Joan was checking out Carmen the entire time. It may have been where they met.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Is it just me, or does Joan Jett look like she's had some serious face work done?

Jon, if you get the Disney channel, you really need to record the episode of Kim Possible that airs this Sunday at 8:00pm. It features a math-themed villain called The Mathter.

OK, that was great. Did you already know the boyfriend's dad was an actuary?

That was the second actuarial episode they've had this season. (The other one is called "Odds Man In" if you want to catch a rerun). And they established that Ron's dad was an actuary a couple of seasons ago. KP has a continuity that puts most prime-time series to shame.

Just purchased Sir Paul's Dance Tonight single.

Like pretty much everything Paul's ever written, it's catchy, poppy, likable, and pretty good. John was always the better songwriter, though he was was always the darker one. But the song is good. It's sounds like classic Paul. Makes me miss John and George, but I like it.

Serial:

And upon a couple of listens, it's bright and upbeat, but there's this undercurrent of sadness that I can't quite tell if it's actually there, or if I'm adding it to the song in my head myself.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Anyone heard of Pistol Valve? They're a pop group of Japanese women, with horns. Lots of horns. Catchy as fuck, and they have a great look: [link] [link] (YouTube videos.)

I'm really the only Beatles fan in the thread? Really?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In other news, Oxford American has asked me to pitch for their music issue.

I suggested Dan Hicks, The Memphis Goons and The Scruffs.

(Remember, it has to be a musician or band with some connection to the South.)
