It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

Hey, Megan, are you still here in town next week?

Yes, it has come up on me so quickly! We're in the middle of mid-terms here and between that and the job search I haven't had time to think about Texas.

I get in to Houston Sunday evening and will drive to Austin sometime on Monday. I am staying at the Habitat Suites through Wednesday night. It turns out that someone from the group I'm interviewing with in San Francisco lives in Austin so I'll have (yet another) semi-interview over coffee at FlightPath on Thursday morning. Other than that, I have no set plans.

I'd love to see you and anyone else in the area at any point. Just let me know what would work best for you.

Excellent! Next week looks like it will be a slow one at work, and my parents will be in town to babysit Li'l Sphere, so Mrs. Industries and I would have free time to grab some food and/or a movie, and maybe on Wednesday afternoon, some SXSW day shows. I'll send you my contact info.

some SXSW day shows

My friend's band, Imperial Teen, is playing Wed. night. I wish I'd gotten my act together to come down this year!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Cool - you're friends with Imperial Teen? Awesome!

Do they have a new album out or something? I just have the one that came out about four years ago.

The new album is due out this fall. They've been recording the last couple of months. They don't all live in the same city anymore so logistics are difficult.

FYI:

Absolutely dreadful is the only way to describe No Hats Beyond This Point, the 2003 record from Men Without Hats. Yes they are still around, although I didn't know that until somebody sent me this record out of the blue. Of course this is final proof that any band from the 80s that got marginal success will do anything to reform and rob you of your money. Don't be conned!

Actually, that link has a bunch of info about a whole bunch of different bands....

Hee!

eta: Right now I'm listening to "The Cat in the Hat." My boss asked me, "Where do you find this stuff?"

Very cute. There\'s something about the breathing that gives it away though. t /nitpick
