Nope. I did go to an earlier one-night stand they did at the Middle East, though.
Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
totally shallow and OT post from Ms. Lurker
OMG, I need conversion software so I can put Corb Lund's "Hockey Game" song up for EVERYONE. It calls out David Allan Coe, and is just brilliant, and is so very Canadian, and dissolves in fit of giggles
Seriously, I wish iTunes had a setting for "play me this song every time. Every time, bitch!"
Oh well, looks like I missed it. What did you think of it, Corwood?
I heard about half before I had to go to bed, but it had some excellent Nels Cline shreddage. A couple of the songs seemed a bit oriented towards two-chord jam-band stuff, which isn't a good trend, although I'd rather hear Cline extend a solo than just about anyone else. It was hard to get a grasp on the songs otherwise. I'm not immediately bowled away like I was with the last 2 studio albums.
In other news, I saw Richard Thompson play last night and got to speak with him briefly about the book. I think he's interested in seeing what it's going to say.
Very cool, Corwood!

Hey, Megan, are you still here in town next week?
Yes, it has come up on me so quickly! We're in the middle of mid-terms here and between that and the job search I haven't had time to think about Texas.
I get in to Houston Sunday evening and will drive to Austin sometime on Monday. I am staying at the Habitat Suites through Wednesday night. It turns out that someone from the group I'm interviewing with in San Francisco lives in Austin so I'll have (yet another) semi-interview over coffee at FlightPath on Thursday morning. Other than that, I have no set plans.
I'd love to see you and anyone else in the area at any point. Just let me know what would work best for you.
