I had fallen way, way behind in this thread and have been scanning to catch up. So could someone tell me if people compiled 'Best of 2006' lists here or not. I'm a smidge curious.

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
I didn't do one here, but this link has my top 20 albums at the bottom: [link]
Sidenote: The songs in the new Hugh Grant/Drew Barrymore romantic comedy, Music and Lyrics, were written by Adam Schlessinger of Fountains of Wayne.
I don't think we did do any. But I've still been thinking about it. Maybe we have some distance from 06 and can do it now?
All things considered, I\'d rather be in Philadelphia [link]

I saw a Secret Cinema show when it traveled out to SF. Cool stuff.
A handful of us did best of 2006-lists.
A handful of us did best of 2006-lists.
Right. I didn't know if that was the case or not so I can backtrack and see.
For what it's worth my top five of '06 were, in no particular order:
Dar Williams - My Better Self. The Paper Chase - Now You Are One Of Us. The Dresden Dolls - Yes, Virginia. The Hold Steady - Boys and Girls In America. And cheatingly
The Cardigans - Super Extra Gravity
Mine would be M. Ward, Chris Thile, The Hold Steady, Christina Aguilera (hush!), and Neko Case.
Ask me again, and I'd probably change some of those...
