"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

think anyone around here might be interested in a Go Home Productions mashup of the Velvet Underground ("I'm Waiting for the Man" and "The Gift") and the Archies ("Sugar Sugar")?

Me and Lester Bangs!

The VU's "There She Goes" mashed up with Marvin Gaye's "Hitchhike" would be a gimme.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Does anyone have Need Your Love So Bad by Little Willie John? In my foolishness I left my much-loved mix of the Wonder Boys and Rushmore soundtracks, and have been suddenly desirous of hearing it again, but there's no torrents for either soundtrack. I've found everything off the WB soundtrack except that song, and I'm going to wait to start hunting for the stuff on Rushmore because there's twenty tracks. But combine them together and you have some of the best driving music.

By the by, "Cocksucker's Blues" is one of my all-time favorite RS songs. I put it on when I'm feeling cheeky. And the Fratellis are biggish here--I think I've got a couple of tracks of theirs that I could stick up on BR, if you like. Did we get a new BR? I lost the plot there.

Also! The Decemberists are coming to Manchester on the 5th, and if my stars align properly I *might* just be able to afford seeing them.

Yes, but I'm still at work & don't have it here. Will try to remember to send it when I get home. Great song with nice work by Mickey "Guitar" Baker. I think LWJ was about 17 when he recorded it.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I'm home now and could upload it to brawk2 if no one else has yet.

Whoa. If you go to your iTunes and click on Radio, then click on Jazz you get 47 streams. One of them is MacVouty Radio - all Slim Gaillard, all the time. How cool is that? None more cool!

"Either it's murder, or this library has a very strict overdue policy."

Wonder if that will work in not-iTunes, I feel I must try at least.

The Regina Spektor gig got sold out before I could lay my grubby little hands on a ticket. Not to happy about that.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Hmmm... I've never tried the Radio option in iTunes.

I used to listen to the altcountry stations all the time at school. They have a pretty good selection, but when too many people are bogarting the stream it buffers like a mofo.
