Frail my heart apart and play me a little Shady Grove

The band I'm playing SXSW with...

Quivering with excitement and envy.
One day I will attend this. Is Jon going again this year?

So, are you in for the round robin, Katefate? 'Cause you should be.

Put me at the end of the list. It really does sound like fun.

Katefate - If you're going for a Winfield-only mix I've got about a ton and a half Wilders, Split Lip and Drakkar Sauna mp3s --- iffin' you need any. (Along with stuff you probably have like Hot Club and the Greencards).

Thanks, tina! I'll let you know if I decide to go that way. But those names. Sigh. I've suddenly got the fever. You know the one.

Have you seen the 2006 line up thus far? [link] Wilders and Greencards. And Tim O'Brien! Yip! Plus, it's about time for the River Rats' halfway to Winfield campout.

Train of thought: Winfield --> River Rat --> mascots --> Buffistas --> llama

Which train makes it clear I should be in bed.

Alas, no.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Gary Numan's new album will finally be released March 13.

He's created a special "micro-site" to promote it: Jagged. It includes lyrics, videos, a photo gallery, and a free download of the track "Haunted".

The album gets a good review here: [link]

6 years between albums is too damn long. I can't wait! *bounce bounce*

Now if he'll just tour some places besides Europe. I saw him on his last tour of the US, and he was one hell of a performer.

What's the PIN? I don't need to get on another mailing list.

Hello, Austin! I don't have the time or scratch to hit any of the official showcases this year, unfortunately. However, it's Li'l Sphere's spring break, so we're going to go see some day shows.

My Richard Thompson box set finally came in. Best part: I get to write it off my taxes. The accompanying book(let) is full of great info that I can plunder for my book.

Man, the artwork is horrible on this RT box set, but the third disc, "Epic Live Workouts," just caused me to take back years of gleeful agnoticism. The version of "Calvary Cross" is so hotshit great that I'm surprised it didn't melt the mixing board.

Whoa. There's a recommendation.

Anybody else hear Dr. John on Morning Edition this am? [link] I was already feeling the love when he referred to folk in his NO neighborhood as char-ACT-ers. The lurve shot into hyper drive.

Tracks from his fundraising CD at the link too. I'm listening to Sweet Home New Orleans right now AIFG.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but the third disc, "Epic Live Workouts," just caused me to take back years of gleeful agnoticism.

That is one of the best bits of marketing I've seen, because if there's anything you want from an RT box set, it's Epic Live Workouts. Particularly of "Calvary Cross."

How many guitarists can you say that about? Tom Verlaine?
