Very convincing. Makes me completely want to put myself under government control. Please take me to where you can make me unconscious and naked.

What's wrong with acoustic music??

Oh Kate, I lurves it myself, but ever since I worked with a guy (who I otherwise adored) who grumbled about "all that acoustic shit," I've been sensitive to how subjective musical tastes are. I always used to think of my tastes as eclectic, but when I look over my collection, the bell curve has a big, fat acoustic middle.

See me waving, katefate?

I do, Theo! I took today off work (which is where my mp3's live), so I will send it off to you when I get back to the office. I'm excited to share a piece of Winfield with a Buffista.

Ooh, I wonder if I could do the mix with only Winfieldites? Extra challengey.

once solo and once with Gorka, Wheeler and Cliff Eberhart

swooning at this trio John Gorka is coming to Indy in September, and Vance Gilbert in October. Whee!

The manservant must see CW, I decree it. You know what else I like about her? She's a big old out dyke. She came onstage in jeans and shapeless t-shirt and sang like an angel and played like the devil. The audience of mostly straight couples just ate her up - her music, her queer life stories, and her and Kenny White's ultra-lefty views. All in my horrendously red state. It's rare I feel as okay being me in a big group of straight Hoosiers as I did Sunday night.

Enough fangirl gushing. I'm so pleased Kate and JZ share the Wheelerlove.

Corwood (is it wrong that I still think of you as fater?), love the freaky Osmonds vid. They looked like they were have such fun!

And how cute was Donnie?
Somebody's got a crush.

Heh. I should have known in Junior High. I never shared the Donnie crushes of my friends. Nor Davey Jones. I always liked the Monkee that could sing, although I couldn't identify who it was at the time.

Before I spiral any further, and not unrelatedly, I must off to shrinkage.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Corwood (is it wrong that I still think of you as fater?)

Heck, no. I went by that forevah.

Yeah! The band I'm playing SXSW with is led by a jack Mormon who's nuts about the Osmonds (and also asked me if I'd ever heard of a book called Bubblegum Is The Naked Truth). I sent him the link and he freaked out.

So, are you in for the round robin, Katefate? 'Cause you should be.

Hey! Don't go dissing Mickey Dolenz. And not just because he was also Arthur on the animated Tick.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Mickey has the chops.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

No idea, Tina. Just that my friend there said he was a coworker.

And Mickey Dolenz was, I think, only Arthur for season 1 of The Tick.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

And Mickey Dolenz was, I think, only Arthur for season 1 of The Tick.

That is sadly true.

Also, it's Micky without the "e."

No idea, Tina. Just that my friend there said he was a coworker.

I only ask because my understanding is that when he was in Lifter Puller his day job was as a financial planner. Which is actually exactly what he looks like.

Katefate - If you're going for a Winfield-only mix I've got about a ton and a half Wilders, Split Lip and Drakkar Sauna mp3s --- iffin' you need any. (Along with stuff you probably have like Hot Club and the Greencards).

Quivering with excitement and envy.
One day I will attend this. Is Jon going again this year?

So, are you in for the round robin, Katefate? 'Cause you should be.

Put me at the end of the list. It really does sound like fun.

Thanks, tina! I'll let you know if I decide to go that way. But those names. Sigh. I've suddenly got the fever. You know the one.

Have you seen the 2006 line up thus far? [link] Wilders and Greencards. And Tim O'Brien! Yip! Plus, it's about time for the River Rats' halfway to Winfield campout.

Train of thought: Winfield --> River Rat --> mascots --> Buffistas --> llama

Which train makes it clear I should be in bed.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Is Jon going again this year?

Alas, no.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Gary Numan's new album will finally be released March 13.

He's created a special "micro-site" to promote it: Jagged. It includes lyrics, videos, a photo gallery, and a free download of the track "Haunted".

The album gets a good review here: [link]

6 years between albums is too damn long. I can't wait! *bounce bounce*
