I'd love to be in on the mix thing, FWIW.

But mostlly, I wanted to beg for MP3s of "Iko Iko". I have the Belle Stars and the Dixie Cups. I know there's a lot of covers out there, does anyone have one for me?

I have one by Cyndi Lauper, if you want it...

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I do not know what was going on tonight, but I was doing my monthly emusic downloads and it was not registering everything I was downloading. Has anyone else had this happen? Am I gonna get a bill for the extras?

tina f. - Feb 28, 2006 6:54:05 pm PST #2396 of 10003

Not sure, msbelle. I looked but didn't see anyone talking about having problems with that on the emusic message boards.

But I did see people talking about this Rolling Stone article.

The gist of which is that iTunes currently has 83% of the download business. eMusic only has 150,000 current subscribers and sells about 4 million songs per month, but it is the only service that does not offer its downloads in a protected format or in one that disappears when you quit the service (uhm, what kind of crap is that - evidently with Napster and Yahoo! your music goes away when you unsubscribe? WTF!!). But artists get more money from selling their music through iTunes (which totally makes sense given the price difference).

Plus AC Newman of the New Pornographers is a subscriber and a fan. There was some speculation (on the message boards) as to what his emusic user name might be.

I'm not sure what you mean, but if it's the error message you get on the download window (say 7 of 8 tracks will be fine but one will say "download could not be completed or something like that) I've had it happen. Just give it another try. They won't charge you for two, just the successful one. If it's something else entirely then I have no useful input.

I echo Joe. Same thing has happened to me.
