Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Woo Hoo! At last I can stop shutting up about it! I've already gushed and squeed over Hec's triumph, so this is all for Corwood:

Dude, you fucking rock out loud!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Hooray for Hec and Mr. Industries! Couldn't happen to two cooler, smarter guys! This definitely made my morning.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

Congratulations, Corwood & Hec!

I also look forward to reading the ones on Marquee Moon and Another Green World. And since the Minutemen clearly seem to be in the zeitgeist -- now on emusic (thanks, Misha), Double Nickels on the new 33 1/3 list -- I'll point out their documentary, which I happened upon 10-15 minutes ago. Completely missed it last year. There are some screenings coming up in SF. Just skimmed the list but didn't see any other screenings of interest, but maybe someone has moved or will be traveling. Doesn't seem to be on DVD or tape, but there is a poster! (Ed Wood: "Is there a script?" "Fuck no!! But there's a poster.")

Uh oh, late for my appointment.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Fuck yeah! Congratulations, Corwood! Very very excited to read your book. That's awesome.

And you doubted your pitch.

When did you say you'd turn in your manuscript?

I was mentally preparing myself for a negative answer because there had been so many proposals turned in and it was breaking my heart a little because I really really really wanted to do this book.
