That Fall article is brilliant.
It was fascinating, wasn't it?
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Fascinating, a bit surreal and hilarious. I especially love the 15-year-old kid who grew up near Smith and left him notes telling him he was his hero and maybe they could go for a drink and of course ...
He soon ended up in the band.
Good stuff.
I agree; that was awesome.
They should do a fictionalized BBC miniseries about the history of The Fall in 12 episodes. I wonder who could play Mark E.?
I heard some more bad news -- well, it might be a relief for the family to know but they found Barry Cowsills' body. He's been missing since Katrina.

Holy shit.
Susan Cowsill was married to Peter Holsapple of The dBs for some time. I think they're divorced now. They did a one-off project with Vicki Peteson of The Bangles called Double Date that I really loved.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with The Cowsills, they were a family sixties pop group and the inspiration for The Partridge Family.
I forgot to mention that I got the Harry Potter Goblet of Fire sdtrk just so I'd have the songs by the band at the Yule Ball, The Weird Sisters, played by Jarvis Cocker and Johnny Greenwood.
So I'll probably post "Do the Hippogriff" (which totally sounds like a Billy Idol song) and the others later.
I've been meaning to do that too.
I think in an extended edition of that movie, I'd want an entire Weird Sisters concert.
runs around thread waving hands and squeaking
The Sisters of Mercy are touring!!
No, they're not releasing a new album. Yes, Andy still hates goths and makes bitchy comments about them. I. Don't. Care. Sisters! Touring!

All three were in the Continental Drifters when I saw them back in 1995.
