I can't imagine coming to visit your friends and finding the house in flames and then everything else.
t obsessive rambling because I read waaay too many stories about this after sumi linked to that initial one
The whole thing is like a movie in that it is just so hard to comprehend 1. anyone doing something so horrible especially to children and 2. friends and family having to cope with the sudden sickening tragedy of it all. Throw in the fact that most of them found out by actually arriving for a party, and, from what I've read in several newstories, it looks like the family was in a hostage situation before they were killed that a friend dropping off their daughter actually walked in on but (obviously) had no way of knowing what was happening.
Plus the family sounds so beloved in their community - which hadn't had a homicide since 1987 (and there were two others that same day - gunshot victims less than two miles away).
It's all really freaky and seems like fiction. I wish it was fiction.
t /obsessive rambling
I read that story yesterday, and just can't dwell on it. It's so awful and outlandish that it makes me shake with rage.
Y'all want to do another round robin? I was thinking that we could set up categories for each song in the mix, as with the first round, and then post two full mixes at a time to buffistarawk for a week. At the end of each week, we'd take down the two mixes and add two new ones. What y'all say?
I'm in.
You think buffistarawk will hold up? I downloaded from it yesterday and got no "breaking the law!!" type message but... they might get testy if we start using it a lot again.

Oh, I think we'll be ok. I didn't realize that we're up to 59% of the box used, though. Maybe we should make a supplemental account for this sort of thing.

Good idea.
That Fall article is brilliant.

It was fascinating, wasn't it?

Fascinating, a bit surreal and hilarious. I especially love the 15-year-old kid who grew up near Smith and left him notes telling him he was his hero and maybe they could go for a drink and of course ...
He soon ended up in the band.
Good stuff.
