Jon, Liese, anybody who has recording equipment...

My version of "Come on Christmas" by Cheap Trick has one of those "hidden tracks" by just creating a 7:30 track, with 2:30 of song at the beginning then five minutes of dead air...and you know what I mean.

Anyway, I can edit the track so it doesn't play the dead air or the hidden track in iTunes by just going into the info and telling it to stop playing after a certain point. However, it still takes 7:30 minutes of space on a playlist. Can somebody edit this so that it is only 2:30 minutes (or so) of the song I want?

I'll post it up at Buffistawrawk if anybody is inclined to grab it and help me out here.

Hec, I cut the extra hidden track off using Sound Studio and sent it back to buffistarawk.

But there's this weird click at the beginning. Let me try again...

(Omigod I can't belive I have listened to a Cheap Trick song about Christmas this many times in one night.)

ETA: I repeated the process and the click (right at the beginning) remains. Maybe someone else will have more luck. Odd, I've never had that happen before.

Also, I love those mashups!

I did a better edit of the Cheap Trick, using ffmpeg, an mp3 utility that doesn't need to decode & reencode the mp3 in order to edit it. It's up on Buffistarawk now.

Ideas of CDs to give to my mother as a present? She's 56, a suburban matron, and loved past gifts of the Buena Vista Social Club and the soundtrack to Get Shorty. I think she was less wild about Portishead. (I was not the giver of any of these gifts). Not hip in the slightest, but likes interesting funky things.
