That was really amazingly good.
But not very satisfying as a series finale.
Dammit.
And these last two episodes brought back soooo much stuff, and characters that the show was it's old self again. *snif*
I wonder if something was really wrong with Frank Capra's leg, cause that whole thing was kinda...lame.
And tonight's ending was so well done -- it wasn't the fake-out or the high drama cliffhanger Rob has used before, but a real end to one chapter, a perfect pausing place in the plot and the characters' lives.
Yes, this, and still the most brutal cutoff of a show for me since TWIN PEAKS (at least of a show that managed to finish it's run of a full season).
FARSCAPE's was so absurd and gratuitous (plus I think the mini was in the works by the time I saw it) that it never pinged me the way this does.
Hell, Objects In Space felt like a better point of closure, at least in terms of the characters being in a place I didn't mind leaving them, mysterious backstories not told and everything.
Okay, is it weird that I'm starting to cry a little bit?
RIP Veronica Mars, my second-favorite TV show and favorite TV (anti-)heroine of all time. What will I do without your cute blonde snarkiness?
I don't even know.
I'm gonna miss it, but I think there was enough reunion of old characters and return to the original tone for this to be a semi-satisfying coda.
Aw, man, now I'm all sad that the show is over. I wish that this whole last run of six or seven episodes had been devoted to this storyline; I kept watching the clock and worrying about how they'd possibly manage to wrap things up in the time left, and then... they just didn't, really. Although I'm really glad that they didn't try to get Veronica and Logan back together in the end.
Shallow note: Parker, what in god's name possessed you to wear that monstrosity? Especially while visiting Logan and informing him that he was breaking up with you, or whatever. Wouldn't you want to look, you know, *good* in that situation, instead of deranged?
Also, I totally loved Dick trying to kiss Mac. Oh, Dick! Don't ever change!
Okay, is it weird that I'm starting to cry a little bit?
no. i totally am too. i can't believe it's over. i really, really wish the season had been as good as those two episodes because that was fantastic television.
Oh, I was crying when Veronica walked out of the polling place, in the rain.
Holy crap. That was hardcore awesome. Back to its noir roots, morally gray and people inadvertently hurting the people they love, Veronica being *angry* and callback to S1 and JAKE FUCKING KANE coming back and Logan being Logan, and above all, Keith loving his daughter more than life itself and willing to go to the hell and back for her and Veronica realizing the magnitude of his sacrifice. And things are messed up at the end, but it was the *right* ending, with Veronica and Keith, underdog again and back to the beginning. And you know what? I think they're gonna be all right.
I'm sad but very satisfied. I'm so glad this show is going out on such a great note! *sniffs*
