Topic!Cindy, I don't know much of anything, but I think your theory may be spot on. See also: FOX putting Fillion on a talent holding deal before Drive got picked up officially, Universal putting Fillion on a talent holding deal before Serenity got picked up officially.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ausiello:

12:28 First question, asked by me: "Is Veronica dead?"

12;29 OK, here it is in a nutshell, per dawn ostroff. Veronica Mars is dead. But, and there is a but, she says she's "talking to Rob and Kristen" about doing something else. She's not calling it a spin-off, and wouldn't say whether it would feature the character of Veronica. Translation; I'm as confused as ever!

12:33 I will try and get more clarification on this. Please stand by...

12:36 OK, a reporter just asked a VM follow-up — and Dawn continues to dodge. She says they're discussing "an idea," but adds, "I don't think it's going to happen."

12;47 The press conference is over. I tackle dawn just as she tries to escape and I ask her to level with me. Is Veronica dead? "Veronica Mars is over, but we're talking about something else. I don't know if it's going to be anything. I'm being honest with you. It could come back in some form, but I don't know what form that would be." She confirmed that the deadline to make a decision is "somewhere around" the June 15 date i referred to previously. Long story short: mystery still not solved!

12:53 Heading back to the office to bang my head against the wall.

Why the hell is she acting like no one knows about the FBI thing? JUST SAY SOMETHING.

What is even happening?

I sort of blame Ausiello a little. He could have asked, "Is the something the FBI thing we've heard about, that Rob Thomas presented to you a couple of weeks ago?"

Just for the record:

just checked in with Rob Thomas, who tells me:

"I haven't heard about a future project, yet, but I suppose I'd listen. Would love to work with Kristen again, however."

When I ask point blank if VM is over, Rob tells me:

"I believe we're out of hope."

It is over. We are done.

The writers have already taken new jobs. Phil Klemmer is going to Chuck, John Enbom is going to The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Diane Ruggiero is going to Dirty Sexy Money.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh well.

This makes me sad but I plan on enjoying our last two hour of Veronia Mars.

(I cannot believe that they're going with that show that's actually filmed in Africa!)

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

i'm really not feeling the loss of this show and i can't figure out why. i certainly haven't hated this season like so many others have, but i definitely can find fault with it.

i'd really like for it to go out on a good note, but i'm not really holding my breath for that either. finales, RT and i don't have the best track record.

Oh dear. I'm a million years behind on Veronica Mars, but it's always sad to see a show go down in flames (or, more accurately, a network trying to dodge the question and pretend it's all okay).

Hey. New board.

Bye bye. =(

I'm almost out of TV. Do not go away House or Office or 30 Rock! I shall die.

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

I think we are to understand that all the members of the Fitzpatrick's gang sport that tattoo, not that Keith made a wild assumption.

Have we seen other members of the Fitzpatricks sport that tattoo? I may be forgetting an instance but I don't think so. For me, as an audience member, my thought process went "He was caught with stolen property and has a tattoo of a symbol that has, for Americans, connotations of Irishness. He must work with the Fitzpatricks." That isn't to say that was Keith's thought process but since this show has a history of negative stereotyping towards Irish-Americans, I'm reluctant to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Every Irish-American character shown or mentioned on this show has been an Irish stereotype: the violent louts, the submissive woman, the Catholic priest. They intimidate Irish: Veronica was introduced to them with the threat of having a green clover tattooed onto her face. They murder Irish: Felix was killed because he was having an affair with Molly and was, odiously, seen as polluting the stock. They hang out in a pub decorated with Wexford flags. They all have either stereotypically Irish names or names that evoke some Irish cultural touchstone.

There is very little to them beside being violent criminals and Irish and when they are violent it's mostly in a way that evokes their Irishness.

Many of the characters do have racial/ethnic prejudices (although not the good ones like Veronica and Keith).

In 'Plan B', I think, Veronica made some comment along the lines of "If only we had stricter emigration laws' regarding the Fitzpatricks. And it wasn't a character note that was addressed later, it was just thrown out there and forgotten.

Why the hell is she acting like no one knows about the FBI thing? JUST SAY SOMETHING.

Could she be suggesting that they would like to make 'Veronica at the FBI' as a different program?
