Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

'Never Leave Me'

Veronica Mars: Annoy, Tiny Blonde One. Annoy Like the Wind.

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

Idolator did you two better.

Three better, if you count owning the song. Four times, if you count knowing it existed.

Was that Rob Thomas alongside Paul Rudd in the video? 'Cause it was such a perfect mid-nineties video, it had the look of a labour of love.

What is even happening?

Yes, it was Rob Thomas. And I thought that was going to be my favorite extra little bit in the episode, until I heard the Joel thingie I'm waiting for P-C to tell everyone.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Mac asserts that she's going to kill the inventor of Ultimate Frisbee.

Who just happens to be JOEL SILVER, producer of Veronica Mars.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

That's funny!

Hey, thanks for the kudos for my blog post. I'd forgotten all about it and was surprised as anyone to click on the link. I always forget how accessible blog posts are, and hope that others read past all the typos and poorly worded sentences as quickly as I wrote them.

Anyway, I just watched the show and enjoyed many of the elements y'all have already mentioned. There was a particularly nice moment when Mac realized that she was going to call Max and the barest hint of a smile played out on her face, like she had been waiting for an excuse. Piz's call-out to Austin's late, lamented Liberty Lunch was also a nice little moment.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

He's not the love of her life,

Oh, why do you say that? I think he's lovely and the handholding was all kinds of 'aww'.

No, I thought it was very sweet too, and I like Piz a lot -- much more than I expected to when he was first introduced -- but I do think they're not meant to stay together. It seems to me that their relationship is being used on the show as a foil for Veronica/Logan, rather than as a viable thing in its own right. I could be wrong, and in fact, I hope I am, but that seems like the likely outcome.

Who just happens to be JOEL SILVER, producer of Veronica Mars.

Ha! Okay, that is awesome.

You know, I can't say I'll be sad if the rest of the show's episodes are as fluffy and fun as this one was. It's a totally different show from the neo-noir I fell in love with, but I'm liking the lighter tone, and I've given up on ever getting another Season 1. If I can't have dark, morally ambiguous characters, class struggle, and the seedy underbelly of a sunny California town, I'm happy to settle for snappy dialogue, romantic angst, and in-jokes.

Because the person is sane.

Ha! I really thought you wanted to say the opposite, but wanted to make sure it wasn't a Buffista first. Guess that's the my pessimistic nature.
