What is even happening?

That's how I've felt the past two episodes, Wolfram. I suspect Rob is taking a lot of fan heat right now. He should read our board, instead of TWoP.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Poor Rob. I mean, he fell down on the job somewhat this season, but the viciousness of some of the attacks against his person I see, especially in some parts of LJ, which I no longer frequents, is rather mind-boggling. I can understand being disappointed in a show and bitterness about losing the love, etc., but some of the professed feelings sound like visceral rantings of a child against an abusive parent. It makes me blink. It kind of reminds me of the way a certain segment of Buffy fandom turned against Marti Noxon in S6 (where some crazy people were, like, calling her names like the one Lutz called Liz in the last episode of 30 Rock, and casting aspersions on her mental health.)

But then, perhaps I shouldn't be surprised. I did that fandoms-as-relationship memes after all. I don't recall calling for Chris Carter's head on a platter, even in the height of my X-Files bitterness though.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

The one thing that I kept thinking about this morning is I don't see how Josh can ever come back home. If he does and they use the video to prove he's innocent, then won't insurance fraud be levied at the family? Or does running out the statute of limitations affect that too?

I'm sad in a way Lamb is gone, because I did enjoy his jackholery for the sake of jackholery. Made for some interesting tv though.

I don't think my complaints with VM really matter in the long run. I'm still more a watcher than a fan. I think I am on board with the dissatisfaction with the lack of emotional resonance.

I like the theories for the killer, but I'm really paralyzed by the not caring very much.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, if there is a statute of limitations on insurance fraud - surely that means he just stays away 'til then and uses the recording to prove that he didn't actually kill his father.

But then, could the recording which shows that he didn't kill his father then be used to make a case against the assistant coach?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Yup. There is no statute of limitations for murder.

Yup. There is no statute of limitations for murder.

Unless he was charged with aiding a suicide. There may be a statute of limitations on that.

I have a feeling Jack McCoy would indict for murder, and offer man 2 with a recommendation.

Law and Order: Neptune!!!

At one point, I wondered if Lamb would be killed off, but I figured it would be the final mystery, or something like that. Then, when I heard about Muhney up for other pilots, I just figured he was hedging his bets, in case VM didn't make it back, or that maybe he was not happy with how little screen time he got. I never expected him to die this soon. I was so surprised.

I was stunned. When Lamb got hurt I guessed that Keith was going to be made sheriff -- at least on a temporary basis -- because Lamb couldn't serve and none of the deputies look ready for promotion. I was all gleeful about Keith and Veronica ending up on opposite sides and how great that would be for dramatic twists and turns. And then Rob went and killed Lamb off. I was just stunned. It was very Jossian to me.

What is even happening?

It was. In one sense, it was a little lacking in power, because it happened off screen. I mean, I thought he was dead at the house, and then we heard he was in ICU, or whatever. In another sense, I assumed he'd make it, and then Keith got the phone call, and boom.

Also, where the holy heck have you been? I wanted to email you, but I no longer have your address. I was all set to ask CB if she'd heard from you, lately.
