there is something to be said for the lyric and imperial attitude / believe that everything is for you until you discover that you are for it

The guy who played Lucky totally nailed the scene in the jailcell with Keith - definitely abuse.

I’m still sort of weirded out by how marriage-minded people are on this show. Meg’s family wasn’t living in a compound – you’d think they’d want her to go to Bob Jones U and meet someone with both Crazy and a BA. And the whole Lianne/Jake/Celeste triangle seemed sort of age-inappropriate. High schoolers take going to the prom with someone as seriously as they do the idea of marriage – probably more so. It’s not that they don’t think they’re going to be together For Ever and Ever, just Ever and Ever doesn’t really go farther than next week.

As for the Chlamydia, all you have to do is follow the clues. Since Chlamydia is the leading (preventable) cause of blindness, it’s obvious that Duncan got it from making sweet love with the woman who owned the green car (because the Fitzpatrics have to be involved in even the Chlamydia plotline). They had a bond because he didn’t always feel like she was judging his Argyll sweater-vests.

I’m glad they’re making Woody an equal opportunity sexual predator (to take away the ooky gay=paedophile vibe).

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Ellen Ellen Ellen!!!!

It's Ellen!!!!

That's all I have for now. I have a list brewing in my head, though, about all the loose ends, and how they (1) might tie in to the bus crash, and (2) might be connected to each other.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Oh, Ellen. How you make me laugh. I needed that.

What is even happening?

I was working on a crazy theory that the whole "drunk lady in the motel" sitatuation was a set-up to frame Keith. But then I realized that Woody would hardly want to do something so risky so close to the incorporation vote.

I know, although I do think there's still an off-chance (and I realize it is very off) that the whole passed-out-staffer was a calculated move on Woody's part, which he assumed would make Keith his bitch (poor assumption), while cementing his sexuality in Keith's mind, in case Keith didn't actually buy his "the disgrunted gardener made the DVD" cover.

Yeah, but their religiousity wasn't just portrayed as strict/fundy. Despite the lack of a compound, it was portrayed as excessive, abusive and possibly cultish, what with the kid in the closet, and the journals, and such. I can totally buy they'd want her to be with one of their own kind. And if this is the case, I love that Lucky may be more of an opportunist pretender than a true believer.

Because books.

I hate to fixated on an STD, but I just don't get the reason for the chlamydia. At first I thought it was going to prevent Veronica from caving under Logan's drunken declaration of epic love, but that doesn't seem like it -- I bought her wanting to think about what he said first.

The Lucky/Meg thing is completely confusing me, and I sadly have no tapes to go back and watch.

Oh, I think it played into it, but the biggest reason she ran was that she freaked, because she wants him, but she's afraid of Epic. She still wants normal to be her watchword. I don't think the STD was the only reason she ran. If it were the only reason, there still would have been some smoochies first (why oh why couldn't there have been smoochies why oh why oh why oh why) before running.

I think the Chlamydia has to play into a child molestation angle that may well tie into the bus crash mystery, and that's why V had to get infected. It was set up way back, in NPBiaC. That's when we got introduced to the creeptasticness of both the Manning and Goodman households, and saw Lamb's tie to child abuse, as well.

Because smooching someone who would be too drunk to remember it the next day is a bad thing?

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

Yeah, I think the Chlamydia is just there as an incentive for Veronica to dig into Duncan's sexual history, in order to set up a "Dun dun duh!" revelation.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

The guy who played Lucky totally nailed the scene in the jailcell with Keith - definitely abuse.

I think there have been definitely some major hints that Woody is a sexual predator, but there are so many potential victims, it's making my head spin. Was it Beaver? Peter? Lucky? Or maybe it was all of them and they were all banding to expose Woody a la Oriental Express, I don't know.

Actually, Woody is now striking me as such an obvious guilty party that I wonder the crash was engineered by someone else after all. But then, I thought Aaron was too obvious a candidate for the murderer in S1, so what do I know?
