What is even happening?

Good call. Wish I'd said that. </smart ass>

Teppy's post had so much in it, that I started responding to it, before I read the rest of the thread. Sorry for the duplication, Kalshane.

I'm thinking about the payout Rhonda's family got and wonder if it was actually related to the bus crash in some way. Generally, when something unseemly is found in someone's food, there's a big hooplah about it, not a quiet settlement to the tune of $2 million.
I know. And it feels like we were fed so much red herring last night, that maybe it wasn't all red, and we need to take a second look.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

No problem. I was bemused.

Very true. And the fact that we were seeing both dream and flashback versions of those killed in the bus crash makes it a little hard to pick out what's "real" and what's the workings of Veronica's subconcious when you're trying to remember what actually happened.

And a sudden thought occurs to me about Cervando. He said he won the jeans Dick ruined (or the money for them. I can't recall which) by pool sharking one of the Fitzpatricks. Seems odd, considering the supposed enmity between the two groups (at least until Thumper started stealing the PCHers away from Weevil) that they'd play pool together. Or that a PCHer could win so much money off them without violence insuing, at least. Maybe P-C's suspicions about Cervando were correct, or at least he was more involved with the goings on than any of the characters have suspected.

I've started a post (in LJ) on the episode, trying to break out actual information and its source. It's taking forever though, and I may quit it, rather than finish it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

In Veronica's dream, dead gay student asked her "Why would *I* go to a baseball stadium?" (Which is a bit of a stereotype, but again, it tells the viewers something.)

That kind of bugged me, but Dick's report that he saw Peter (is that right? I have to say, Veronica's ghost's complaining that she has to put descriptive t-shirts on them to keep them straight was very funny) throwing away the basbeall tickets he'd won supports the idea that he wasn't there because he's a fan. [This paragraph brought to you by me working out small things that are obvious to everyone else. The #1 sponsor of -t posts]

I can't decide if I would be pleased or disappointed if Dick turns out to be complicated after all. I am stuck thinking that Beaver's "story of my life" wrt catching the shit fallout from Dick's dickishness is foreshadowing some major reveal. I can't see Beaver being involved in the bus crash, though. I can see Dick, Logan and Lucky following up the swimming-pool-on-fire lark with doing something to the bus.

I, too, am suspicious about the $2 mil settlement really being about fast food. And damn, Rhonda's [wait, was that Rhonda or was Rhonda voicemail girl? Maybe I'm thinking of Tina. I wish we'd gotten to know these dead characters earlier] sister was cold with that "better than taking the bus" comment.

Rhonda was voicemail girl. Tina was Dick's fling. I thought Vette!chick was Rhonda's sister, but I could be confused.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Tina was Dick's fling.

Betina.

I thought Vette!chick was Rhonda's sister, but I could be confused.

Yep. Natalie. And her comment about the bus did make it seem like the money was related somehow.

I thought it was Betina, but then I thought "What kind of name is Betina?" and assumed I misheard.

Betina is also Dick and Beaver's mom's name.

Also, I knew a Bettina.

So Dick was sleeping with a girl who had the same name as his mom? A girl who was (reputedly) trying to get pregnant whie telling him she was on the Pill.

Interesting.

(Eta: No way am I going to be able to keep Rhonda and Bettina straight. They might as well be the same person for all my brain can tell)
