I know a lot of people have jumped on this Woody molested Beaver train, but i'm just not so sure. i rewatched NitW last night and the Beav just isn't acting like a molested child in Woody's presence. he's carefree and smiling and even teasing Woody about the Sharks. now...the molestation could have taken place between 2x01 and 2x17. that i'd buy. especially with the creepy Logan groping.
Actually, even though I posed that speculation, I agree, as I also watched NitW, last night. He is the one who said, "Sharks pitching sucks!" and seemed smily and easy in that scene.
On the other hand, it could be that RT just wasn't thinking that far ahead. After all, Meg should have been 5 months or so pregnant by then, but we see her in a belly shirt, and she's skin and bones. I still maintain a girl that age can hide a pregnancy, and you don't show all that early in first pregnancies, but I don't know that at five months, anyone's belly is concave, like Meg's was.
On the other other hand, Cassidy was also uncomfortable with Logan and Dick ogling Kendall. Now, granted, it's not abnormal for a son or step-son to not want people ogling his father's wife, but it made me wonder what Rob had decided to do, and when.
On a similar other-other hand, I was thinking about the dvd that was sent to Woody's office. It scanned the line of baseball team photos. I didn't pay close enough attention at the time, but where they little league photos, or major league photos, because if they were little league photos, I think we have ourselves a molester.
VERONICA MARS SCORED ITS BEST PERFORMANCE IN FOUR MONTHS
Just in time for UPN to change nights. Meh, I says.
Personally I'm happy with the switch (although I'll miss HOUSE most of the time, as I'd rather not have to count on the local re-air of VM), but moving shows around can raise havoc with a shows ratings.
That was a pretty good episode. I'm on the "YOU HURT MAC YOU DIE" train, though it's pretty obvious that there's something else going on here than the Beav turning into a random dick (pun intended).
I've been a Logan/Veronica shipper since forever, but I was groaning when she went to dance with him. I mean, "COME ON!" Hasn't she learned anything? I feel like it's too predictable for this show - or at least, for how the show used to be.
Which brings me to my last point:
Does anyone else feel like this year is noticeably worse than last year?
I've been a Logan/Veronica shipper since forever, but I was groaning when she went to dance with him.
But she didn't. She was working, taking the keepsake photos, and he was working the admission table. She asked him to dance when she noticed that he was about to go off on Gia in a really vicious way.
Does anyone else feel like this year is noticeably worse than last year?
I don't think so. I think it's different, definitely. Last year's mystery was so personal, so devastating -- the murder of her best friend, the loss of her boyfriend, the disappearance of her mother. This year the focus isn't as personal, which is fine with me, and I like the way the writers have maintained continuity and developed the characters. Just my opinion, of course, but I'm enjoying it just as much.
I've been enjoying reading the various theories as to Beaver's break-up w/Mac. I was wondering if anyone thought that Beav's molester (if any) may have been female. I have no suspects in mind, but the thought came to me. I had more reasoning, but I'm at work, and work intervened.
Attention Los Angeles denizens! I just checked KCOP's schedule and VM is not on tonight, due to baseball. They will be showing the new episode tomorrow night at 9pm.
I *finally* watched my tape of last week's episode (with minutes to spare before this week's!), and I have to say, I couldn't figure out what Cassidy's problem was, until I read the speculation here about him possibly being abused.
That seems really plausible to me, both in his demeanor and in a bigger-picture meta way for the whole season -- I can't help but think of the issue with Meg's creepy parents and the sister in the closet, and Lamb's reaction. Even though that wasn't sexual abuse, I feel like it has to fit in somehow.
Whee! Watching real time for a change. Freaky stuff this one.
Why was everything pink in the first scene?
Also, Logan has amazing arms.
