What is even happening?

Last week's ratings were fine. About the same as the week before. I'm not sure what your friend is talking about.

What's going on with the ratings, in general? I'm seeing people in LJ-land (like Shannon) saying the ratings are worrisome, and Rob sort of indicating the same thing, only less urgently.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The ratings suck. The end.

We're about a million viewers short of what we need.

And our retention out of ANTM blows.

Here is a visual representation of our suckiness:

Woe to the fucking wicked.

The change of day makes sense, then (even if it is personally quite irritating)

So you were just in denial land when you said:

Oh, that graph indicates the ratings are better than season 1, though. Am I interpreting it correctly? You know, with all the changes, I can't see how the ratings would have improved. Last year it was on Tuesdays. This year it was on Wednesdays. Then they started advertising for Feb sweeps, but instead, took it off the air during, and as a last minute decision, so the Olympics wouldn't kill it. People have a hard time finding shows after stuff like that. Now they're moving it back to Tuesdays in another two and a half weeks. I am hoping a lot of Lost viewers turn in.

I wish Sayid would pick up some stray radio message about it moving back to Tuesday nights.

Strawberry disappointment.

When is it going to occur to these people that hiatuses (hiati?) cripple shows like this? Just film it and show it ffs. It's not rocket science.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Ah, yes, but that realization would put the schedule planners out of work...

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Nah, they'd just have to develop new skills. 2 full seasons each year.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Ah, yes, but that realization would put the schedule planners out of work...

And that means back to the monkey house with them. So much nicer to fling your poo at a calendar rather than at the bars of your cage.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

That is a weird graph. It is almost as if the green line would be the purple line if everything was averaged out.

The hiatus really kicked VM in the teef.

No, the green line would be the yellow line if everything was averaged out. The yellow line has always been higher than the purple line, which is the S1 average. Problem is the S2 average has been going down.
