"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Even Rob knows it's a bad episode!

It definitely had a pre-hiatus vibe to it.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Well, he does wish they'd gone into hiatus on a stronger note.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Quote from John Rogers:

The WB didn't pick up Global Frequency, so I killed it. With my mind.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

WB/UPN merge

This really hoses one of the stations in most of the large markets, doesn't it? For example, it'll be good here in Providence since we don't currently have a WB affiliate, but up in Boston, either channel 38 or channel 56 are going to lose all their network programming.

i'm still distraught that GF didn't get picked up.

yeah that's what i was thinking too, DX. we have both UPN and the WB here in nashville, but i'm pretty sure memphis still doesn't have a WB station. so it will be good for them.

What is even happening?

It definitely had a pre-hiatus vibe to it.

It nearly had a pre-permanent hiatus vibe to it. I mean, Buffy thinks so. Me, I kinda liked it despite the problems. *cough*

Hee! I saw someone on Whedonesque mention that canning Angel was the fatal mistake.

Our wings are not tired.

They announced here today that the UPN station would be the new station and that the current WB station is losing their programming. They put a positive spin on it saying they could be more devoted to local programming. Yeah right.

The thing is, a lot of those stations were viable independents before the WB and UPN came along. It'll be interesting to see if they can go back.

What is even happening?

I was just wondering that, DX. I know that was the case in Boston, with WLVI 56 (WB) and WSBK 38 (UPN). They've been around for as long as I can remember.
