I am not...I am not the damsel in distress. I am not some case. I have to work this. I've lived in a cave for 5 years in a world where they killed my kind like cattle. I am not going to be cut down by some monster flu. I am better than that. What a wonder...how very scared I am.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

My vision in my left eye has been kinda blurry recently. But not the usual blurriness - it's like there's this wavy pattern superimposed over my field of vision.

Is it kind of sparkly, like the spots you see after someone takes a picture with a flash* or you look at a bright light? If so, it could be a silent (i.e. painless) migraine, which I get every now and then. Although mine only last for an hour or two, never for several days, so it's probably not the same thing after all. Still, doesn't hurt to toss out the possibility.

*What IS the word I'm looking for? Afterimage? Doesn't seem quite right...

In other news, did anyone watch Invasion last night? I kind of liked it. Kari Matchet! And I can't figure out who the guy who plays the sheriff is, but I think he's an actor I like.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

But not the usual blurriness - it's like there's this wavy pattern superimposed over my field of vision.

Not to make you panic, tommyrot, but that's the same type of symptoms my sister had for her detached retina. I really recommend seeing an optometrist.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You have to call before 4:15, or Jilli will poke you.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

William Fichtner! Love him. Wasn't wild about the show, but love him.
