Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

But not the usual blurriness - it's like there's this wavy pattern superimposed over my field of vision.

Not to make you panic, tommyrot, but that's the same type of symptoms my sister had for her detached retina. I really recommend seeing an optometrist.

Yeah. It's more noticable when I'm staring at text on a computer monitor (which I do all day) but it's been pretty constant.

Okay, you already said you were going to call the eye doctor, but I'm going to pile on with that advice, anyhow. I used to work for an ophthalmologist in college, so clearly, I know all there is to know.
