"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

There's a disturbance in the forc.....No wait, that's Dana's blood pressure.

Eh. At the moment, I've swung back around to...um, I'm not quite sure how to describe it. Right now, it's taking people 6 hours to get to Austin and 12 to Dallas, and a 12 hour commute in heavy traffic probably *would* kill my husband.

Also, keep in mind that:

a) We're in a townhouse that's smack in the middle of a group, so we're fairly sheltered.

b) We didn't flood during Tropical Storm Allison.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh, and msbelle, insent about possibly going to see Isaac Mizrahi's new talk show.

Ooooh. So, so jealous.

I had very nummy roasted carrot soup w/ chicken for lunch (yay leftovers!), and am now trying to decide where I want to go for dinner. Someplace that has prompt service, as after dinner I scurry home and play the usual Wednesday night game of what do I want to wear to the goth club?, which is usually followed by a round of I have nothing to wear and I want new clothes. That's usually followed by Pete laughing cynically at me and saying "I know! Wear something black. With fluffy skirts."

Coding and Sleeping

Hey, cool, 2002 Chevy Malibu (current car) got best entry mid-sized. That's good to know.

I have a 2002 Ford Windstar and was sort of surprised that it got best Minivan. Ours hasn't been a problem (except for a power steering pump that was replaced under warrenty), but I was still surprised.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't know how I can teach tonight. But I really want to!

I'm picturing Debbie Allen in Fame. Without the cane.

Well, I use people-meds. (I just love the look on a new pharm's face when I explain I can't put it on my insurance, and no, I don't need to apply for aid, it's for my cat.)

I just have to do the research.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm picturing Debbie Allen in Fame. Without the cane.

Clutching my stomach instead?

It's a thought.

It should be fun, right? With all the new talk show giveaway stuff Mizrahi-style! I think I'll go even if I can't find someone who can go with me in the middle of a work day.

Crazy-driving uncle could probably tell you all the back routes to Austin....

I go ho...I mean to the stores, now.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

My father-in-law just called to tell us he thinks we should evacuate.

If we do stay, I don't actually think the hurricane's going to be the source of most stress.
