If you take sexual advantage of her, you're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Nah, they could still very well be cash-strapped.

Interesting.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Oh my. This Onion headline made me laugh out-loud:

What is even happening?

Cashmere, we canceled our newspaper subscriptions for financial reasons. The stress reduction was just an unplanned bonus.

Lovely Rita, mega-cane....

DATA FROM RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT INDICATE THAT RITA HAS INTENSIFIED A LITTLE MORE AND WINDS HAVE REACHED 150 MPH WINDS WITH A MINIMUM PRESSURE OF 920 MB. THIS MAKES RITA A STRONG CATEGORY FOUR HURRICANE.

So, with all that warm water, we could be looking at a Katrina-sized storm with super-low pressures and cat. 5 winds late tonight, before the predicted shear knocks it back to a cat. 3 or 4 in time for a Saturday landfall.

"Galveston, Oh, Galveston..."

Fuck.

Actually, it looks like Galveston is threatened but not directly in line for annihilation.

However, if it maintains its current course, Sugar Land gets the NE quadrant.

Can't wait for the speech in Sugar Land -- "I'm going to be sitting on the front porch of Tom DeLay's house...."

Our client in Houston is closing all their offices this afternoon for the rest of the week.

Which works to my advantage, as I have to change something on a couple of their servers. </evil me me me>

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Our office is also closing for the rest of the week.

I was sticking around for a 1PM conference call. Which has been delayed.

My first hurricane was in Houston for a category 1, I think. That was interesting. First time I'd seen that much water come out of the sky in my life, and I'm not really exaggerating (desert.)

You going to stick around or take an impromptu vacation, Dana?

At the moment, we're planning to stay.
