Tainted Love is good, although this DJ skipped that one. Other than Love Shack as his closer (better, at least, than Rock Lobster) and the inexplicable absence of Tainted Love, he was pretty good. Even included Lady in Red, which is my shameful secret love.
Oops. Not so good with those shameful secrets, am I.

LIR has a special place in my heart, too. It was the love theme for Patch and Kayla, lo, these many years ago on Days of Our Lives.
I hate Lady in Red.
Oh no, wait. I don't. I hate Simply Red. Ah, the 80s.

Yes! This exact memory is what reminded me that I didn't hate it.
Happy Birthday, Sue!

Holding back the years? That one bugs you? Fair enough.
If we're talking 80s songs that originally pleased but now annoy, I offer Back on the Chain Gang, although I still love Middle of the Road for the lyric that I wrote across my American History final ("If you own a big chunk of the bloody third world, the babies just come with the scenery"). Perhaps unsurprisingly, my mark on that exam was not stellar.
happy birthday Sue.
lady in red was one of those songs that was my song at wedding, because I always wore red at weddings.

Yep. The voice. The song. The look. The hype. All of it.

That's been getting a lot of airplay around here, lately. I was just thinking about that very verse last Thursday night. It was on while I was making a three point turn in the car, to get a parking space on the right side of the road near my hair salon. Why, oh, why does my brain remember these ridiculous details, but not the important stuff?
Don't harrass me can't you tell, I'm going home, I'm tired as hell. I'm not the kind I used to be. I've got a kid; I'm 33. Baby. Get in the road.
Also? I hated the Eurhythmics.
That's not spelled right, is it? Well...I don't care. *That's* how much I hated them.
