What is even happening?

Holding back the years? That one bugs you? Fair enough.

Yep. The voice. The song. The look. The hype. All of it.

If we're talking 80s songs that originally pleased but now annoy, I offer Back on the Chain Gang,
I don't think I ever liked that one.
although I still love Middle of the Road for the lyric that I wrote across my American History final ("If you own a big chunk of the bloody third world, the babies just come with the scenery"). Perhaps unsurprisingly, my mark on that exam was not stellar.

That's been getting a lot of airplay around here, lately. I was just thinking about that very verse last Thursday night. It was on while I was making a three point turn in the car, to get a parking space on the right side of the road near my hair salon. Why, oh, why does my brain remember these ridiculous details, but not the important stuff?

Don't harrass me can't you tell, I'm going home, I'm tired as hell. I'm not the kind I used to be. I've got a kid; I'm 33. Baby. Get in the road.

What is even happening?

Also? I hated the Eurhythmics.

That's not spelled right, is it? Well...I don't care. *That's* how much I hated them.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

It was the love theme for Patch and Kayla, lo, these many years ago on Days of Our Lives.

Heh. This factoid is also stuck in the junk drawer of my brain.

Wasn't it "dead babies just come with the scenery"? That's how I always heard it in my head, but I've been known to jump to darkest interpretation.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Also? I hated the Eurhythmics.

Whuh? You don't even like "Would I Lie to You?"

Maybe she didn't like the video with the cows....

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Also? I hated the Eurhythmics.

Cindy is dead, dead, DEAD to me now. DEAD, I tell you.

Oh yeah, best Eurythmics song evah! And I'm fond of several others, especially from that era.

Eurythmics? Eurhythmics? It should be spelled with the "rh", because that's how rhythm is spelled. *googles* Nope, it's spelled Eurythmics.

I'd say, "Here Comes the Rain Again" ranks up there....
