I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Victor Zsasz.

Let me guess - middle initial is "P"?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I remember hearing about Fred Durst, seeing him on some MTV thing, going, "So that's Fred Durst," and then going on to something totally other. He doesn't annoy me, doesn't intrigue me, he's just sort of there.

The costumed cats look like perfect minions for Clovis. I'm sure the kinds of retribution they've thought up are amazing.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

I remembered Christa McAuliffe, and I was in college (where I hardly knew anything about the outside world). You were in grade school then, Katie? Infant.

Heh. If only. What I was really thinking was that people much younger than me wouldn't remember her name, and the audience for "online survey" is probably pretty young on average.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can't hate Fred Durst because I love the song he did with Staind:

And you bring me to my knees, again
All this time that I could beg you please, in vain
All the times that I felt insecure, for you
And I leave my burdens at the door

I’m on the outside
I’m looking in
I can see through you
See your true colors
’cause inside you’re ugly
Ugly like me
I can see through you
See to the real you

All this time that I felt like this wont end
It’s for you
And I taste what I could never have
Was from you
All those times that I tried
My intentions
Full of pride
And I waste more time than anyone

I’m on the outside
I’m looking in
I can see through you
See your true colors
Cause inside you’re ugly
Ugly like me
I can see through you
See to the real you

All the times that I cried
All this wastin
It’s all inside
And I feel all this pain
Stuffed it down
It’s back again
And I lie here in bed
All alone
I cant mend but I feel
Tomorrow will be okay

I’m on the outside
I’m looking in
I can see through you
See your true colors
Inside you’re ugly
Ugly like me
I can see through you
See to the real you

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I was ten years old when the Challenger went boom, and in the fifth grade. Apparently, that was the year that all the kindergarteners got the TV for events, and the confusion that broke out when the shuttle launch turned out to be more of a shuttle flambe was enough to shanghai my science teacher from the class.

We didn't find out what had actually happened for another couple of hours, I think.

I think kindergarteners watch events on tape delay, nowadays.

(I do remember being in kindergarten and watching Reagan's first inauguration. Why would this be significant to kindergarteners? I have no idea!)

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

If Adam is gay, why hook up with Naomi Campbell, of all things? That's just crazy.

There's a huge article on Bono's work on debt relief in the Sunday NYT, btw.

He's the one who starred in My Giant with Billy "Wow, My Career Really Went Down the Crapper" Crystal, wasn't he?

Former NBA player.

And actor. He was in My Giant. Hysterically tall (7'7).
