Giles: I'm sure we're all perfectly safe. Dawn: We're safe. Right. And Spike built a robot Buffy to play checkers with. Tara: It sounded convincing when I thought it.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I think I'm missing Threshold as we speak. I don't even know what time it is.

But Stargate is on. It's awfully anvillicious this season.

edit: Yep. Missing it. Maybe it'll rerun.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

so about Zellweger and fraud...

n court papers filed Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the Oscar-winning actress listed "fraud" as the reason for the breakup with the country music star.

The term was "simply legal language and not a refection of Kenny's character," Zellweger said in a statement Friday.

"I would personally be very grateful for your support in refraining from drawing derogatory, hurtful, sensationalized or untrue conclusions," she said. "We hope to experience this transition as privately as possible."

Oh good grief. Did the Stargate writers have a little sit down and deliberately decide to drop anvils this season, or did they somehow not notice the falling iron?

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

FWIW, Zenkitty, Stargate talk is over in Boxed Set.

Don't know if Katrina talk is still going on, but:

1)Remember discussion about police blocking the Bridge out of NO. Not only did they do it, the town that did it is proud of it:

This is an LA times story, so use bugmenot to get a password if you want to read. Don't bother to register yourself unless you will be reading the LA times a lot, because the LA times free reg form goes on forever.

2)Old discussion on roll of racism in all this. Digby has some interesting stuff on this: [link]

3)Revival of welfare queen lie: [link]

I've been skipping and skimming so maybe someone already posted these links.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I guess it runs in the family:

September 16,2005 | AUSTIN, Texas -- The youngest son of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was arrested early Friday and charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest, law enforcement officials said.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I taped Threshold because of Carla Gugino and Brent Spiner and Peter Dinklage.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Just about as Buffista as it gets -- literary figures drawn by comic-book artists.
